Summer 2023 Recap

Another summer in the books!

We hope you enjoyed our summer reading program and all the events we offered. We would love to hear any thoughts on what you like (or didn’t like) when it came to summer reading. Can you believe it, we are already working on summer 2024 programs!! This is where we need your help, let us know what types of events you would like to see next summer. It would greatly benefit us if you could share what time of day, and day of the week, you would be more likely to attend a summer program. You are always welcome to call, or come by, and chat with Ms. Taylor, our Children’s Librarian, to share your thoughts and ideas. We truly value our library community and thank you all for always supporting us! Now time for some numbers…

  • Adults – 117 signed up and earned 433 virtual badges! This is the largest group of adult summer participants we have ever had; we can’t wait to see this number grow even more!
  • Teens (7 – 12th grade) – 53 signed up and earned 394 virtual badges!
  • Youth (K – 6th) – 259 signed up and logged…6,123 BOOKS, and earned 1,253 virtual badges.
  • 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (birth – about 5 years) – Just in June and July we had 85 readers that logged 6,614 books! We also had 3 kiddos complete 1,000 books program this summer.

We would love to see any pictures you took during our event, we have uploaded some to our gallery which can be viewed by clicking here.

We would be forever grateful if you could take a quick survey (linked below). This survey should take no longer than 5 minutes!

We hope to see all of y’all during the school year and if we can help in any way just let us know! As a reminder, we are open Monday-Friday 9am-8pm and Saturday 1pm-5pm. We do offer free Wi-Fi and access to numerous research databases with your library card. Library cards are free and available to any Texas resident.
