Public Internet Access Policy

The City of Wolfforth provides free public Internet access to library clients during regular operating hours.  The following regulations are in effect:

  • The password for all computers is library.
  • Our card catalog is located at https://wolfforth.biblionix.com/atoz/catalog/
  • Our public Internet access is not filtered on any computer located outside the children’s room. Two filtered access computers are located in the children’s room.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for minors’ computer selection, Internet use, and choice of web sites.
  • Walk-in clients may use the Internet on a first come first serve basis.
  • Patrons with library fines may be restricted from using the computer.
  • Staff may limit access to computers located in the computer lab.
  • No more than two users per terminal.
  • Some computers cannot support flash drives.
  • Printing charges are $0.25 per page. Please be aware of how many pages you are printing.  We recommend highlighting desired text and printing that specific selection.
  • Internet access in the library is provided for research and educational purposes. Inappropriate use will permanently cancel Internet access privileges. Inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to:
  1. Violating copyright laws
  2. Using library Internet facilities for financial gain, commercial activity, or any illegal activity.
  3. Use of impolite or abusive language, including music.
  4. Transmission or receipt of offensive or sexually explicit materials.
  5. Violation of the policies and procedures of other networks encountered on the Internet.
  6. Attempting to illegally enter any other computer system by “hacking” passwords of authorized users.
  • Restarting the computer will restore all default settings. Any programs or downloads recently installed will no longer be available.
  • We cannot control the internet. Problems often occur. Sometimes they are our problems and sometimes they are not. Please keep in mind that you are using this service FREE of charge.  If you complain too loudly about our FREE service or FREE computers you will be invited to leave.  So be nice.
  • Library staff is available for basic help on the computers as our time and skills allow. Due to privacy concerns, we will not help with any sensitive information.
  • Instructional computer classes are offered sporadically throughout the year. Please see library staff for details.
  • The computer lab will not be available for walk-in use during scheduled class times.
  • COMPUTERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHUT DOWN FIVE MINUTES PRIOR TO CLOSING TIME. Under no circumstances will they be restarted after this time.  Librarians have no control over this function so please make sure you have completed all computer tasks by this time.
  • Any patron requiring special assistance should notify library staff.
