1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
In January 2015 we launched a new program for children ages birth up to starting kindergarten, and it encourage early literacy by reading to your child. It is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success. Reading to your child is a proven way to boost your child’s brain power and it creates a special bond with your child. The simple act of sharing books helps your child learn pre-reading skills such as understanding the sounds letter make, developing a bigger vocabulary, and building background knowledge – all important skills that help prepare your child for learning to read and entering kindergarten.
